Attack on Titan season 1 episode 1 explained
"Attack on Titan" is an anime series set in a fictional world where humanity is on the brink of extinction due to the existence of giant humanoid creatures called Titans, who roam the land and devour humans for no apparent reason.
In the first episode, we are introduced to the main character Eren Jaeger, his sister Mikasa, and his best friend Armin. They live in a walled city called Shiganshina, which is the last bastion of human civilization.
One day, a colossal Titan, much bigger than the others, appears out of nowhere and breaks through the outer wall, allowing smaller Titans to enter and wreak havoc. Eren, Mikasa, and Armin witness the destruction firsthand and are forced to flee for their lives.
After managing to escape to safety, Eren vows to join the military and fight against the Titans to avenge his mother's death, who was killed during the attack. Meanwhile, the military is desperately trying to come up with a plan to retake the lost territory and protect the people inside the walls.
The first episode sets the stage for the rest of the series, introducing us to the key characters and the brutal world they inhabit. It also sets up the overarching mystery of the Titans and their origins, which will be explored in more detail in later episodes
